They all need minerals as well, but an outdated permitting process forces us to rely on foreign mineral imports — creating raw material shortages and holding back American job growth.
We urgently need to pass H.R. 761, the “National Strategic and Critical Minerals Production Act of 2013.” The legislation will reverse a 30-year trend of ever-increasing reliance on foreign imports for materials we have right here at home.
World-wide competition for mineral resources is increasingly fierce, and America can no longer afford to ignore its domestic minerals potential.
