Recently, the Nevada Mining Association shared some of the ways that the mining sector in the state contributes to the well-being of employees, the communities in which they operate and the state as a whole.
The industry contributed more than 7,000 volunteer hours and more than $5 million in donations to organizations including the Boy Scouts, Great Basin College, Jacob’s Well Youth Center and the Elko Senior Citizens Center to Three Square Food Bank in Las Vegas, Communities in Schools in Las Vegas, Nevada Ballet Theater in Las Vegas, Spread the Word Nevada in Las Vegas, Red Cross of Northern Nevada in Reno, Food Bank of Northern Nevada in Reno/Sparks and many more.
“The mining industry has been in a great position over the past several years to affect positive change throughout the state by supporting these various organizations dedicated to charitable giving, education, the arts and much more.” said NvMA. “Our members will continue their efforts to better Nevada and build on this great work in the years to come.”
