Shortages of key metals—namely tellurium, indium, gallium, neodymium and dysprosium—could delay the proliferation of advanced energy technologies in Europe. This news is the result of a study implemented by the Institute for Energy and Transport of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, which analyzed 14 metals used in energy technologies and also spoke to the “political risks associated with the geographical concentration of their supply.”
