U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, highlighted the importance of domestic mineral production during an address in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday.
During a keynote address at Technology and Rare Earth Metals (TREM) Center’s 12th Annual Conference, the Alaska senator emphasized the urgent need to update federal policies, and expressed her frustration over the obstruction of the Critical Minerals Policy Act (S.1113), a bill she introduced last year.
“This is an opportunity to help ensure that new products and technologies continue to bear the stamp that means so much to us: Made in the U.S.A.,” Murkowski said. “If we fail to act – if we fail to even consider legislation to address the very real challenges we face – it will be our own fault, and it will be to our full detriment.”
